  • Brig Below 96-98 Leith Walk Edinburgh, Scotland, EH7 5HN United Kingdom (map)

Jack Neil is a transgender singer-songwriter from the rural area of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Coming from humble beginnings Jack grew up in an former mining village called 'Rosewell' which closed its doors in the 1960's. Two of Jacks Grandfathers worked in the mine, known as Whitehill Colliery, one of which worked in the pit itself as a miner and his other Grandfather working as an accountant.
Jack is the last child of his mother and father Margaret and Graham Neil. He has three other siblings, one brother and two older sisters.
Jack believes he gets his musicality off his grandfather James (Jim) Neil who played double bass in a rhythm and blues band called 'Rainbow Rhythm' in the 1960's. His grandfather also played accordion, managed the band and organised their gigs. His Father, Uncle and Auntie played in a stranglers tribute band in their younger days.
Jack started his own musical journey when he was just eight years old self teaching himself piano. When he was eleven years old he picked up the guitar and started writing his own songs.
ack also studied alto and tenor saxophone in secondary school which has resulted in him playing for 'Screamareplica', the only Primal Scream tribute band in the UK and AC Rid, a regularly gigging band in and around Edinburgh with over twenty years experience.
ack left after four years of secondary education to study music for 3 years as Edinburgh College in hopes of becoming a music teacher however he later found that his heart was in lyric writing and making music. He graduated in September 2017 with a HND in Popular Music.
Jack released his first single on the fourteenth of December 2017 and is already working on new projects following his single release.
